Allergens

Under the terms of Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011, provision of information on allergens in pre-packaged and unpackaged foods is mandatory. A list of ingredients responsible for the majority of allergic reactions to food products has been compiled. The requirement to provide information on allergens also applies to unpackaged products, such as foods served in restaurants and cafés.
 

List of Tests:

  • Detection/Quantification of gluten
  • Detection of crustacean DNA
  • Detection/Quantification of egg
  • Detection of fish DNA
  • Detection of peanut DNA
  • Detection of soya DNA
  • Detection/Quantification of milk proteins (including lactose)
  • Detection of DNA from hard-shelled nuts, namely almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts, Brazil nuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts and Queensland nuts Detection of celery DNA
  • Detection of mustard DNA
  • Detection of sesame DNA
  • Quantification of sulphur dioxide and sulphites at concentrations higher than 10 mg/kg or 10 mg/l, in terms of total SO2
  • Detection of lupin DNA
  • Detection of mollusc DNA
